Artist, architect and sculptor Sandra Vlock spent summers in Woods Hole as a child, and her aesthetic is defined by a love of and respect for the ocean. Her brother Dan now has a house here in Falmouth, and we connected with her to commission a Treehouse Lodge fire pit that would do our new garden justice.
The Fireball arrived on a pick up truck yesterday, driven by fellow sculptor Joe Sorge who helped us gently roll this celestial orb off the back of his truck into it's new place.
One of our guiding ideas was that parents are looking for a comfortable place to gather and enjoy the end of the day, after the wee ones have worn themselves out at the beach. An ideal setting for this kind of hang out is one where the kids rooms are within eyesight, which is part of the beauty of the Treehouse Lodge layout.
We dream that as the sun sets behind the copper beach and the fireflies come out, you will circle up around this fire for the kind of longer, relaxed conversations that only happen on vacation, that this relaxed evening leads to a restful sleep in anticipation of the delightful day ahead.
Join us this summer at Treehouse Lodge, a new place to stay in Falmouth, MA on Cape Cod. For rates & reservations, look at our availability calendar here.
